As lead Sales Rep, Dow O’Neal worked with Looney & Associates to bring The Lodge at Gulf State Park to life. Furnished with Loll Design’s all-weather, modern outdoor furniture: The Adirondack Chair, Adirondack Rocker and Alfresco Tables, these ultra-durable products made of high density polyethylene brought a contemporary aesthetic to the outdoor spaces.

The original lodge which sat on the Gulf of Mexico, offered many activities for visitors, but the impact of Hurricanes Katrina and Ivan took a major toll. Due to the unmet demand for education, outdoor activities, and overnight accommodations, Alabama had the goal of balancing any new amenities with the park’s sensitive ecosystems. Only projects that could serve as a model of resilient, environmentally friendly coastal development would be approved.

The new lodge improves public access to the park’s beaches, trails, freshwater ecosystems, and other natural resources. It features 350 guest rooms, four restaurants, and over 40,000 SF of indoor and outdoor meeting spaces.
